Transfer order Process:
The Transfer orders feature is a process-oriented functionality set that you can use to manually handle and master schedule created transfer orders between warehouses in the same company.
Before transfer orders can be
created, the following elements must be set up for the transfers being made
between warehouses:
Create
a transit warehouse.
Attach
the transit warehouse to the From
warehouse used in the transfer order chain.
Transit Warehouses:
The concept of transit warehouses in the transfer process refers to when
items are in transit, and the items cannot be reserved for use in
another order or another type of issue. Items are physically unavailable for allocation when they are transporting
from one location to another.
Therefore, when a transfer order is created, a transit warehouse is used
for the time that the items are being transported.
CREATING A NORMAL TRANSFER ORDER:
Path:- Inventory
and Warehouse Management > Periodic >Transfer Orders> New
Fill in the From warehouse and the To
warehouse in the transfer order form.
Note: - The From warehouse must have a transit
warehouse attached to it.
If not, then
go to Inventory Breakdown >
Warehouses and create a new warehouse and attach it to the From
warehouse as transit warehouse.

After creating the transfer order, add a new item to the transfer order and fill in all the required details including the transfer quantity.
After filling in all the line
details, the next step is to post the
transfer order.
Posting goes through 4 stages:
Picking List:
This form lets you specify the quantity of the items you want to pick.
Note:- In the picking list form, unless the warning symbol is removed in
the overview form , you won't be able to post it.
So, to
confirm the picking list, the edit lines
option has to be checked and the
update field has to be set to all because you will be posting all the
items mentioned in the transfer quantity field in the transfer order.
Picking List Registration:
After posting the picking list,
picking list registration has to be done where you register the items that
are to be picked from the warehouse for the purpose of shipping them to another
warehouse.
When the picking list registration page
opens, it can be seen that the initial handling status is activated which
means that the items have picked for registration and hence active but have not
been registered.
Now after
completing the registration process, you can see the handling status changed to
completed which indicates that the picking list registration process is
completed.
Ship Transfer Order:-
After the registration process, the items are now ready to be shipped which is done through ship transfer order.
Note:- To go through with the shipment process, the warning symbol as shown in the
screenshot above has to be removed for which the edit lines option has to be checked
and the update field has to be
set to all because all the registered items have to be shipped.
After the shipment is done, it can be seen that
the status of the transfer order is now changed from created to shipped.
Receive:
After shipping the items,
the next and the final step is to receive
those items in the inventory.
This step can be done in
two ways:
1. Receiving the items manually after the shipment process is completed as shown
below.
Note:- To go through with the receipt process, the warning symbol as shown in the
screenshot above has to be removed for which the edit lines option has to be checked
and the update field has to be
set to all because all the shipped items have to be received.
Once this is
done, the receipt is confirmed and
the items are ready to be shipped.
2. Receive the items automatically into your inventory at the shipment process.
This can be done by keeping auto receive option checked.
After
completing the receipt process, it
can be seen that the status of the transfer order is
changed from shipped to received.
